This single stateroom model is widely believed to be the roomiest, best liveaboard ever made and a more economical cruiser cannot be found. The lucky third owner of this vessel, hull #18, will enjoy the following features:

 

Exterior
  • Recent Awlgrip epoxy in a 3-tone finish provides a stunning, UV resistant finish that keeps the interior cool.

  • New canvas with screens provides weatherproof privacy and excellent egress in light colors.

  • Solar panels are roof-mounted on the fixed pilothouse roof, and charge 4 independent AGM battery banks.

  • Pulpit is newly reconstructed to accommodate a new Lewmar horizontal windlass with both chain (BBB-300 feet with oversized 1 inch snubber and 66lb Bruce anchor) and line (3/4 inch, graduated in 25 foot increments, 150 feet and plow anchor), in separate rode lockers, is controlled either inside from pilothouse or by attached remote or wireless remote. A freshwater washdown is built into the pulpit with an ambient water washdown, a water-saving alternate. Waterproof pulpit cover protects all at slip.

  • A deck winch controlled by the interchangeable Lewmar remote can lift and launch a dinghy or motorcycle on/off deck.

  • Dinghy davits have been installed to provide easy launch and recovery. Dinghy is a Highfield 310 AL RIB with a 9.9 Yamaha.

  • Folding aluminum mast mounts spreader, anchor and steamer lights, as well as Garmin radar dome.

  • Dive platform transom door has new heavy 316 stainless hinges and oversized aviation cables. A Whale, hot/cold outside shower is adjacent.

Pilothouse
  • Sporting a full Garmin suite with autopilot, Radar, chartplotters (2), depthfinder with a backup, GPS and XM antennas, and AIS. All engine, windlass, spotlights and pneumatic horn controls are provided along with 2 VHF radios and antennas. A huge amount of storage is provided. Propane locker houses 2-40 lb propane tanks.

 

Interior
  • The classic Krogen interior is rich with polished teak throughout and 6 foot plus headroom. Mostly original, hull #18 has two workstations, one in the salon and one in the stateroom. A settee occupies the starboard salon with massive cushion-covered storage throughout. Dining table folds to provide a king-sized bed.

  • Aft deck is the envy of any similar sized vessel with Teak double-doors and screen doors, port and starboard egress doors, with table and chairs. Hose, electrical outlets, PRV and non-PRV potable inlets provided, wired for cable and internet. 12 volt outlets available.

  • Galley is wonderful with generous cabinet space, huge Norcold fridge, Princess 3-burner stove with oven, microwave and flush-mounted electric hotplate. 

  • Stateroom has an island queen bed, vanity, 2 closets, reading lights, hatch and portholes.

  • Head has a custom Dutch door, rebuilt shower with household style shower mixer and vanity. Head toilet is a new Raritan quiet freshwater flush, 12 volt.

  • New dark-tinted sliding windows with screens have been installed throughout.

  • All dome and other lighting are LED with several having a night (red) setting.

 

Below Decks
  • The Manatee powerplant is a TMD30A 90 HP Volvo diesel with approx. 5000 hours driving a 3-bladed prop. It continues to be a flawlessly reliable engine that sips diesel and does not use any oil between changes. The Turbo, exhaust system and elbow, heat exchangers, injectors, glowplugs and reverse gear have all been rebuilt and/or replaced.

  • The engine room mounted Generator, is a 4.5 KW Kabota diesel, approx. 1900 hours, similarly maintained.

  • There are 4 isolated AGM battery banks. The starting batteries for the main engine and generator can be joined by isolator switch. House batteries are 4 6-volt AGMs. Windlass Batteries (3) can be joined by isolator switches with the other banks to seamlessly run extended on inverter. 

  • Battery charging is accomplished 4 ways. Solar, 100 amp main engine-mounted powermax alternator managed by a Balmar smart regulator, 3000 watt Magnum pure sine wave inverter/100 amp charger managed by a smart charge controller and a backup permanently mounted 60 amp marine charger. Chargers can be switched to different banks as needed. 

  • The 6 gal electric hot water supply is also heated by main engine heat exchanger.

  • There is a spare refrigerator below decks.

  • Besides numerous portable extinguishers, a halon fire suppression system is present in engine room and battery banks.

  • The 300-gallon potable water system is powered by a 4 gph Parmax pump and hydropneumatic tank and filter with a Whale foot pump as a backup. 

  • The 300 gallon diesel storage is fed through a primary filter and water separator, then main engine spin-on. Kabota filter is a cartridge. An electric fuel pump is provided for system priming and fuel polishing if needed.

  •  Vessel has 4 bilge pumps all on float switches. These are Rule 1500 GPH, 2-2000 GPH and 1-3000 GPH pumps.

  • Central AC/Heat is provided by a 16000 BTU Ocean Air water-cooled unit, with a hatch mounted unit as a backup. 

  • Blackwater storage is an exterior-vented 12 gal polyethylene tank.

  • Numerous spare parts for engines, potable water, electrical and plumbing, fittings and tools, hydraulic steering go with a full-price sale. Two spare anchors with 300 feet of spare ¾ inch rode, shackles etc. are also included.
